Prayer Request from Corky...

Postby Corky's Cub » Thu Jan 07, 2010 9:00 pm

Hey folks,

Over the last year I've enjoyed a growing friendship with my daughter Adrian's boyfriend Jason, (Howerpower here on the forum), and for that I am thankful. But tonight I'm going to share a little more about how I came to know Jason, why I think so highly of him, and why I'm asking for your prayers.

Just over a year ago, a friend of Adrian's had become a new mother when her big brother came to visit from Kentucky. Her baby was born with complications that required surgery, so big brother decided to stay a little longer just in case he was needed by his sister. The surgery went very well, with the little guy now healthy and growing like a weed.

But the new mom was not doing well, and got some devastating news: she was diagnosed with non-Hodgkins Lymphoma! So big brother did what family does when help is needed. He returned to Kentucky, resigned his job of many years, and moved to Atlanta to be near his sister while she fought the cancer.

By now you know that fine young man is our new friend Jason; and it is his sister who needs our prayers. After a year of chemo her cancer is back, and she is about to begin a far more aggressive course of treatment. So please share your prayers for Kendra, and for the continuing strength of her big brother Jason.

I know they both will be very appreciative.

Thank you,

Charles

I found this old Cub, Forgotten and Forlorn,
With pistons and valves frozen and worn.
Help from my buddies on Farmallcub.com,
And an engine from Ralph, (37’s the one),
Now ole Corky is running and back to life,
Much to the surprise of my dear, dear wife!

Rosie and I send our prayers.
There are two ways to get enough Cubs. One is to continue to accumulate more and more. The other is to desire less.

Corky Bev and I will pray for her recovery. Beverly had non hodgkins 14 years ago. She had to go through 2 different regimens of chemo to beat it. I wish this young mom the same success.
