Like everyone else I always hate the time change. Working 6 days a week my hunting now has switched from evenings after work to mornings on the way in. That's when I start hunting close to the shop so I have about 1 1/2 hours of daylight each morning. I usually place my stands a hundred yards or so from the road so I can get to my truck fast. I've been doing this so long now that it's hard for me to stay in a stand longer than a few hours at a time... This morning paid off pretty good, about 20 mins after daylight a nice 9 pt. came by checking out the local gals and gave me a sweet 20 yard shot. I watched him go down and slipped out to work then came back in the afternoon to bring him in.

No mass at all here this year, we had frost up into June this summer so the best place to find them is along the edge of fields where they come out and in from eating grass all night.

Yogi, Nice deer! I went archery hunting this past October, Hunted hard til gun season started, I never saw my Buck I was after, I passed on several smaller Bucks, and was at full draw on one coming down the fence line, but let him walk after getting a little closer look on him. I love to archery hunt, and even tho sometimes not successful , I can appreciate all the views that nature offers! and the idea of no phone calls in the woods! Take care , Jim
