Hi All
I found this site earlier when I was doing some work on my 59 Lo Boy, but just joined on Sat. I had the Cub changed over to 12 v and put a new clutch in it - it had been sitting for 20 yrs or so as I didn't have a particular need for it, but now I'd like to use it as a power source for an hydraulic pruner I recently bought to prune my apple trees with - could anyone direct me to some info about how to go about that?
thanks Stan

Stan, Welcome to the Forum. You'll find a lot of friendly, helpful Cub owners here. I'm not real familiar with hydraulics, but several members are and may be able to help you. They'll probably need some info about the pressure and volume that the pruner needs to determine if the Cub can handle it. If you don't get an answer in a day or two, you might want to put a separate post in the Cub Forum with a title something like "need help with hydraulic pruner". Be sure and ask anytime you have a question.

Stan:

Image to Farmallcub.com :big smile: Forum Family. And you have come to the right place for all things Cub related. If you click on the Site Rules, Regulations, & Important Information, it will point you to  the Welcome Wagon wherein you will find links to many useful sites and topics. One of which is the Cub Manual Server. Enjoy!.

There really isn't anything on the forum relating to using a Cub as a power source (hydraulic) for a hydraulic pruner. However, we have a couple of really, and I mean really top end hydraulic guys who are members here. Rick Prentice and ricky racer are two of the best that I know. They have been helping me with my Cub hydraulic upgrades. I am in the process now of building a Cub Touch Control powered wood splitter. I imagine that the pruner would not be too much different. Suggest you post this question in the main Cub Forum - I am sure that Rick, Rick and a few others will be along real shortly to help out.

In the meantime I would suggest you have a look at the above set of links. The CBoK is rather useful as it contains a bunch of projects our members have taken on. I would also request that you take pics and document this project... so this project might be included in the CBoK for the benefit of other members  :!: :D

Stan, welcome to the forum! I can't hepl you either but don't get dicouraged, somebody will pop up with some info.

You are less than an hour away from the Cub Tug Cubfest (July) in Stoutsville and just over two hours from the Barnyard Bash Cubfest (May) just west of Cincinnati. These are two good places to go to learn more about your Cub.
It is common sense to take a method and try it. If it fails, admit it frankly and try another. But above all, try something.

Welcome to the forum Stan!

As noted, try a post in the main "Farmall Cub" section, it will get much more visibility there.

Best of luck with your project,
