New Cub Cadet owner in lower NY

Postby Flatbedford » Tue Apr 27, 2010 3:43 pm

Hi all. I bought my first tractor last week. It is a Cub Cadet 125 Made 5/68. It came with a 42" deck, 36" snow thrower, 42" blade, an extra mower lift frame with mules (or what ever we call that thing, I am new to CC), wheel weights, chains, and an AgriFab 38" sweeper. I found it on Craig's List about 15 miles from home. Asking price was $700, I paid $600. Everything seems to work fine.

I live about 40 miles up the Hudson from NYC. I bought this mostly for a snow machine, but will also use it to mow my large 1/4 acre very quickly! I don't think it will be restored, but I will do what ever it takes to keep it running nicely and make whatever upgrades I think it needs. While new to the world of older tractors, I am not afraid to mess with older stuff. I also have a 1970 F350 platform/stake that is a "work in progress". I have been "Flatbedford" since I bought that truck about 4 years ago. 20or so years ago one of my summer jobs was to cut a friend of the family's 5 acre lawn with what I think was a Cub Cadet 126. I have a picture of me on it somewhere that I'll have to go digging for.

Welcome and congrats on getting the 125 :!: IHCC are about as addictive as their bigger cousins... so be careful

I don't have a lot on the server for the Cub Cadets, but there are resources here for them. Many of us own them along with the Cub and the Numbered Cubs, and there is a rather large talent pool available. A lot of what is in the links below thow may apply and be helpful with your new 125 :D

Image to the Farmallcub.com :big smile: Forum Family. And you have come to the right place for all things Cub related. If you click on the Site Rules, Regulations, & Important Information, it will point you to  the Welcome Wagon wherein you will find links to many useful sites and topics. One of which is the Cub Manual Server. Enjoy!.

And yeah, you got a pretty good deal. The implements that came with that IHCC 125 are probably worth more than you paid for the whole package, so well done on that one :!: :applause:

Welcome, Steve. Nice haul on the CC and equipment, a steal! Oh yes, I really like the F350.
