Hello Miss B!!!

Postby Cub-Bud » Sun Mar 06, 2005 3:24 pm

At approximately 1:15 P.M. this afternoon, my '45 B Farmall (Miss B) roared to life after several years of sitting idle :!: :D :D :D

I made sure the mag was timed properly, connected a battery I borrowed from one of my cubs, added oil, and supplied a temporary fuel source. It only took about five turns of the motor and she fired up and ran PERFECT :!: She ran for less than one minute; enough for me to verify good oil pressure. The needle on the guage rose to well over half-way. The muffler got hot enough that the new started smoking off of it so, I turned off the fuel and she died when the gas ran out. Best of all, Dad came down to help me and was here to see it all. 8)

Thanks, all. I've been waiting for this day for a long time.

Carl, I haven't gotten that screw yet. Still not sure which size to get. I have got a way to check it this week and determine the size. I'll get back to you all when I know.

You talking about the ground screw that goes into the side of the magneto? Try 10-32 x 5/16 (Fillister head, cad plated).

10-32 it is :!: Dad had some brass ones 1 inch long. I brought one home tonight and it went right in. I'll shorten it tomorrow at work.

I know what Cadmium plated is, I know what a 10-32 x 5/16 is, but what the heck is a Fillister head :?: :?: :?:
