Re: New "to me" 3 point hitch for the SA
Can someone with a 3pt for the SA post some close up pictures, especially how the top link connects to the tractor? I want to get one but I've busted the budget on rebuilding the tractor and may need to make one myself to make up for money spent. I haven't started it yet, still waiting on my carburetor, the original Carter was beyond repair from water sitting in the bowl for last 20 years. I think the motor and head are good, compression measured 105, 110, 115, 105. But now I think my touch control is bad since I can lift on the rear bar and the touch control piston moves freely quite a bit.

Here is the one I have and I bought another one just like it for 50.00
I don't have the diagonal bar installed to keep they sway out but I do have it. The bar goes on the bolt at the final the arm is on and across to the end of the other arm where the attachment is. It's a slide flat bar with 2 bolts you tighten down to keep the slippage down.

Here's my progress on making a 3 pt. for my SA, so far it's cost about $230 buying the parts from Tractor Supply. I made the final drive attaching plates from 9/16" steel and added the chains for side to side sway. The only thing left to do is make the bracket to mount the top link. A lot cheaper than the kits for $500 plus shipping but not as good as the one for $50.

Now that excites me. I'm anxious to see it work.

I finished the 3pt. today and bought a lift boom from Tractor Supply. Works great, this is going to save me a lot of lifting.

I like that a lot. It has longer arms than either set that I have.
Great job man!

SA 3 pt. that I put on my tractor. I made the final drive brackets and the bracket for the lift bar, the rest I got at Tractor supply.

yep, pulls good and picks up. I was worried about the hydraulics on this old tractor, but looks like it doesn't need a rebuild.
