where is best place for CC parts

Postby jim turner » Sun May 30, 2010 6:33 pm

Just wondering where is the best place to buy new parts for Cadets, like muffler, seat, gas tank cap, etc.? I mostly buy new parts from the board sponsors but I guess they don't handle Cadet parts.

Jim
Any Cub Cadet dealer, or some parts can be had thru a Case IH dealer, or Ken Updike at C&G.

First, I get most CC parts from the auto parts store. 2nd place is the Case/IH dealer. 3rd place is the New Holland dealership but you must have the IH part number.

I've always had good luck with Madson's Service in Wisconsin. They carry new and used stuff and usually have some of the harder to find stuff. I usually talk to Scott, he's a bit more knowledgeable than some of the others. Good folks!
CC 70, CC 100, CC 106, CC 128, CC 149, CC 169, CC 1000, CC 1450, CC 782 (2 of 'em, one early, one late), CC 982, CC 1782, Cadet 76, IH 184, IH 684, IH 3311, IH 3314, Case 222, Case 446, various Lawnboys and one old Snapper. Not all of 'em run...

You guys must have better IH dealers than I do. The local guys here don't know there was an International Harvestor Company, they think it all started with a company called Case/IH. I wouldn't even know where to begin looking for a Cub Cadet dealer besides Home Depot - and they aren't any better than the IH dealer for supplying parts.

Cub Cadet dealers in your area:
Rossville Truck & Tractor
12635 NW Hwy 24
Rossville, KS
(785) 584-6195

and

Tarwarter Farm & Home
4107 North Topeka Blvd
Topeka, KS

Home Depot and Tractor Supply are not Cub Cadet cealers. They both sell low end Cub Cadets, but they do not provide service or parts (others than belts, spark plugs, filters etc)

Rossville can get "maintenance" items Hydrostat filters, rear gasket, airfilters etc... They don't have the ability (willingness?) to find something difficult - like a spindle for my 50A deck or a rebuild kit for the front PTO on my 125. After a few trips where they looked up something in their books for a while and eventually said "We can't find it so it must not be available anymore" I quit relying on them. They are pretty good about looking up parts for older tractors and equipment though.

Years ago I used Henry Brothers out of Seneca, I would order the part over the phone and have it delivered to my house. Now that Bruna Bros have bought them out the old stuff is nolonger of interest to them either (a 1450? - are you sure its not a 1405?). The same thing that happened when KanEquip took over the CaseIH Dealership in Wamego. Its embarrassing try to buy parts for some of my older stuff there. (I don't have a 440 baler book - what brand is that again?).

Parts Tree has been pretty handy to use.

Another vote for Carter & Gruenwald (sp?) http://www.cngco.com. They have a parts look up similar to partstree so you can find the right part, cross reference to other models of CC's, and the current price.
Though trillions and trillions of eyes have been watching the skies for as long as human memory exists, no gods nor angels have been seen or documented outside of religion. The number of spaceships being sighted however has become much more prevalent.

I go to www.partstree.com to look up the part numbers and then go to "stens" and punch in the part number for an awesome "lower price" on new parts.
I'm technically misunderstood at times i guess its been this way my whole life so why should it change now.

I don't know where you're at, but I have had a lot of luck with Charlotte Tractor in North Carolina. I don't know if they ship, but I have been able to order parts that Cub Cadet dealers have told me I can no longer get.

Here is their web-site and phonw number-

good luck

Something you may notice with the STENS or ROTARY parts is that they are mostly made in CHINA and tend to be lower quality in construction. I've had a few parts from these places that look right but won't fit right.

C&G has been a Cub Cadet dealer since the Cub Cadet was born. I know that we have the people and technical resources here to get some of those parts that other dealers just can't seem to give you. We are not the lowest priced parts dealer, but our service is better than the other "parts sellers". We offer a total support package with a full service shop and knowledgable personell.

Partstree is a Cub Cadet parts dealer that has spent alot of $$$$$ on internet advertising to build thier parts business.
