Whats the difference between super A & 130

Postby opiemaster » Thu May 27, 2010 11:08 am

I am looking at a Farmall tractor that has a 130 hood on it but it looks ALOT like a Super A. I am not very familiar with either one of these tractors. Are they the same or did some one put a different hood on a super A? If they are different what should I look for?
Thanks in advance.

the 130 had a 123 engine and most SAs had a 113 engine, the 123 is a better engine the late Sas had the 123

If the serial number is on the side of the bellhousing it is probably a 100 130. If the tag is under the seat it is a Super A. You can buy thinwall sleeves and make the c113 a c123--they are nearly identical.

130 is the "grandchild" of the Super A.

As stated before, the 130 has the larger C123 engine, and consequently, more rated horsepower.

The 130 also has a water pump, and a taller radiator. You'll note a 2" gap between the gas tank and the TC block on the 130 that is not there on the Super A.

Different styling, obviously. The 130's sheet metal isn't that great, and many were replaced with a Super C grill. So if it looks like a Super A in the grille, that's why. It should be a white, "11-bar" grille.

Stock tires on the 130 are bigger. 11.2x24's if I'm not mistaken.

130 is also geared a little different.
