Just out of curiosity, why would anyone want to put a condenser on the starter/generator. This was on the 147 I just bought. Didn't notice it 'till I got home or I would have questioned the PO about it.

Condensers are commonly put on generators for radio noise suppression. Maybe the PO liked to carry a radio when he was using it.

Re: Cub Cadet Odity
Talk about the condensors I had one PO who tried to get my 70 running with no condensor on the ignition. All we did was to add a condensor and clean the points and carb bowel plus flush the gas tank and its been running for 4 years now. It has a newer replacement 8hp kohler engine.
I'm technically misunderstood at times i guess its been this way my whole life so why should it change now.
