Hello from Pa

Postby Jeff in Pa » Sun Jul 11, 2010 10:40 am

Hello

I'm Jeff and have two cub cadets, a model 122 manufactured in 1966 and a 125 from 1968. I just finished an engine rebuild on the K-301 in the 125 and am ready for some tall grass to mow to break it in. It's my "every week" mower.

The 122 I got about a month ago from a friend who is moving his shop.

I have a QA-42 snowthrower, a 42" blade and a track Vac for the 125. I just picked up a 1A tiller on friday night, there will be some questions for that.

Jeff:

Welcome to the Cub Community and congrats on your latest acquisition :applause: Those are two rather nice Cub Cadets... in their original clothes. As much as I like restored units, there is something about Cubs and Cadets au naturelle so to speak. My 129 is in it's original clothes and I like it that way.

Curious as to the Trac-Vac... can you post pics and of the other attachments you have for your Cadets :?: Really Image, in fact we are all addicted to them :D

You like pics? I have lots of pictures

Here's my 42" dirt blade and the QA-42 snow thrower

Here's the Trac Vac system. You're looking at the back of it. It's powered by a 5 hp B&S and a 6" hose attaches to the mower deck ( 42" w/ cast iron ends on both of my cubs ). The grass is drawn into the blower on the end of the engine and blown into the box. The entire assembly hangs on the back of the tractor on a bracket.

I've also constructed a devise to hold steel plates for when I use the dirt blade or the snowthrower.

I also added lights to the 125

The 125 is a real working machine

I also just got this tiller on friday night.

I've rebuilt the angle drive in the QA-42 and just fisnished the rebuild of my K-301. I have plenty of rebuild pics of the K-301.

Jeff:

Thanks for the pics... and yeah.. we likeemalot :D Hmmm.. nice stuff. My buddy Gord has a QA-36 Snowblower that he has rebuilt his already to fit his 108. Nice unit. He is hoping to have it in operation for the upcoming winter. A little more paint and time to put it all back together. I missed a roto-tiller a few months ago.. would have been nice to have.. but c'est la vie ... :big give up:

Be nice to see the Trac Vac setup as well. I haven't seen anything like that at all before and it is an interesting unit. Looks like your Cub Cadets are pretty useful around the property.. in all seasons :D

We were over 100 degrees on tuesday and wednesday ( 103 & 102 ) with high humidity so I think that snow picture looks pretty good right now.

Thanks everyone for the warm reception Image
