FarmallCub.Com System Announcements.

I'm bursting with pride to announce that one of our founding members is now a published author. 'Country' Elliott Domans has a story that was originally published here on FarmallCub.Com that is now included in a great new book, "My First Tractor: Stories of Farmers and their First Love". For those of you that know 'Country', he is a talented word smith and one of the most enjoyable persons one could have the pleasure of spending some time with. You can find his book at several retailers (on and off line), but hey, if you're going to purchase a copy, why not get it from the FarmallCub.Com affiliate store with Amazon -- you'll pay the exact same price (or lower) as you would at any other retailer and you'll also be helping support this site with a small commission Amazon pays us for the sale. A good deal all around. You can click the link in this post or order from the home page of the site or the store link on the main page. Please feel free to offer your congratulations to 'Country' for making us all proud and while you're at it, start polishing that keyboard off and add your story to our growing list -- maybe you'll be our next published member. Purchase My First Tractor Here!

Congrats on the honor Country! I remember reading your story, as well as the many others, soon after joining the forum. I found each of them entertaining. Having your's published has to be a great feeling for you. I'm sure you got another one in ya. I'll be watching for it. For those who have not read Country's story you can check it out here. http://www.farmallcub.com/cms/index.php/cub-information/cub-stories/reflections-of-the-fiftiesThere are many more entertaining write ups in the story section. If you haven't read any of them yet, you are missing a very good part of this web site. What are you waiting for? Start reading now! You might be inspired too write your own as Dennis suggests. To Get to the stories simply go to the home page and put your cursor on "Cub Information" at the top. Then put your cursor on "Cub Stories". The drop down menu will appear and you can select the story of your choice.

Just ordered it. Having met Country a time or two I figure it will make a good companion to my collection of 'Roger Welch bookjs.

WOW 'Country, you did not tell me any of that. It was great seeing you and Carrol Elizabeth last weekend, and I sure am looking forward to when you come to the Mid TN Cubfest. You said you would be here on Sat. the 21st, ready to plow some ground, right? Would you like me to set up and area where you can display it, and possibly sign some copies for those that are here? That would be awesome my friend, if you so desire. I have started trapping opossums and have a couple caged in the barn, and I will go out driving with my spray paint Friday night, and go get the fresh ones early Sat. mng and we will have a good feed. At the first TN Cubfest your 'beans and opossum' was great, so I will need the recipe. Dale

Hey Dale... THANKS for your kind words on my published story. If anyone buys the book and brings it with them to your Cubfest, and wants their copy autographed by me it would be my pleasure to do it. I'll bring a generous sized pot of Smoky Mountain Possum N' Beans to your Cubfest on Saturday for lunch. Hope some others will help supply you with food as well? Just show me where to plow and I'll be happy to show folks how to set up their Brinly plows for a successful furrow. Looking forward to seeing y'all on Saturday at your Mid-Tennessee Cubfest Dale 'Country' Elliott

Country: Every time I read that story I am reminded of how good a word smith you are. Captivating prose.. enough that even though it is a story of your youth, it was powerful enough to evoke memories of my youth. Reading about your local dairy and deliverys reminded me of Korman's back home, their Divco milk trucks and of course the Ice Cream Sandwich caper Also, I now know why you have an M and a Cub really cool . Thanks again for a wonderful story.
