Just wanted to say hi

Postby newkentnate » Mon Aug 09, 2010 9:26 am

New member here.....I have my great-grandfathers '47 that I am just beginning to restore. So far, I have rebuilt the IH carb and replaced the points, rotor, cap, plug and wires, etc. Was able to get it started this weekend with just some fuel in the bowl (probably been about 20 years since it was last started), so now it's time to get down to business. As I'm new to the the process of doing anything mechanical short of changing oil, I'm sure I'm going to have TONS of questions. Just wanted to say HI and I look forward to posting some pics along the way!!

Welcome!! As you probably know, 1947 was the first year of production for the Cub. What's your serial number? If you spend a few minutes browsing the tool bar above, you'll find lots of information. We're ready and willing to help you with any questions or problems you may encounter.

Congrats :applause: on being the caretaker for your Great Grandfather's 47 Cub :D It is really special when a family heirloom like that Cub gets passed down through the generations. Please do follow the links below as there is a ton of information that you will find useful from the manuals, parts catalogs, service manuals and How To's. I think you will probably like it here a lot :!:

Welcome aboard, These folks really know the Cubs inside and out and are very friendly and willing to help. They have been a great help to me, and I have made some very good friends at the "Fests". I have a 49 and it is truly a fun tractor to own, I'm glad your's stayed in the family.
