HELP!! How do I get rid of thesewithout taking the paint off the siding? I have some wasp/hornet spray that will get 'em, but I fear it will also streak the siding.

Re: HELP!! How do I get rid of theseRoy, check your can to see if it has any warnings about streaking. If it is safe then wait until about an hour after dark when they all come in to watch the big game and spray them good.

Re: HELP!! How do I get rid of theseMr. Roy,
I would suggest some Sevin dust, applied after dark when the critters are not active. Now, the question, "How do I get the dust up there?" I would suggest a ladder against the wall, within an easy reach of the nest. Next, partially fill a turkey baster (I have a baster, dedicated to the application of Sevin) with the dust and then, using a flashlight to light your way (may need an assistant for this) climb the ladder and blow the dust into the entrance of the nest. It may take a couple of days to see complete results. FWIW, you may want a young, vigorous assistant to climb the ladder and make the application. You may hold the flashlight from terra firma. I have used an empty dishwashing liquid container for a Sevin "duster" as well. Dave

Re: HELP!! How do I get rid of theseNow Mr. Don, look at that picture real close again. They are not overly happy about me taking a picture with a big lens.

Re: HELP!! How do I get rid of theseUse a long stick and do it at night. Wasps are not super agressive like yellow jackets and hornets. Trust me.

Yeah, if you came down off that ladder too fast we might have to look at this at Stonethrow. ![]() I don't believe in taking the bull by the horns. I took a goat by the horns once and that was enough excitement for me.

Re: HELP!! How do I get rid of theseA CO2 fire extinguisher, will freeze them. Firefighters recently used that method, on a woman who was attacked by yellow jackets. She had over 500 stings. Ed

Re: HELP!! How do I get rid of these
OMG !! I got into a jackets nest with my tractor and disk. Only got about 50 stings. I cannot imagine 500. They crammed me full of Benadryl for fear my throat would swell up and stop your ability to breath. I bet that poor soul had a time. After Don called me a big ole Sissy, I took a look pole (aka pool brush) and knocked the nest down that night. Could not see where it fell and I didn't hang around. When I got home yesterday I went out there to check it out. No wasps! No nest. I could not find it anywhere. There is 17' of concrete in front of that wall, so I guess something carried it away ?? Re: HELP!! How do I get rid of theseLast week when I was at Bud's I picked up a concrete block from a stack to put under my trailer. As soon a I picked it up I saw a huge wasp nest in the hole of the block under that one. I started to scram when I noticed the other half of the nest was on the block I was carrying. That block hit the ground just as fast as I was getting outta there.
It was a mild drizzle and a little cool that day so Bud and I figured they weren't to active or we both would have had a fight on our hands. Good thing for us. I don't believe in taking the bull by the horns. I took a goat by the horns once and that was enough excitement for me.
