I'm getting excited, got the cameras out to see what's moving. I'll be posting pictures if there's anything worth while out there.

Trail CameraPlaced a few stands this week during my lunch brake, I work 6 days a week so hunting is all done in sight of the shop where I can get in and out fast. Also noticed plenty of tree rubs and one really nice scrape. The deers are running about 1 month ahead of schedule around here for some reason. Maybe their like us and they've had enough of summer too.

Re: Trail CameraGame camera has been set out for about a month tracking most probably deer crossings. One thing I like about the camera is the date time stamp. Deer consistantly crossing the same location at the same time of day.
Guess that's cheating. Show up at the location 20 minutes early, sit down, wait. Bang, hunting is over for the day. I have an excuse. CRS.
Re: Trail CameraIf only it was that easy, Eugene.

Re: Trail CameraIt is. When going to college I worked for my uncle. Uncle farmed and trucked. Farming, I would watch the deer cross the same location at the same time. Opening day. Lay down about 20 yards off the crossing in the corn rows. Check the watch. Time. Sit up. Bang. I have an excuse. CRS.
Re: Trail CameraYogi, hope you have good luck archery hunting. we have had lots of rain in minnesota last few weeks , and I notice the deer feeding patterns are running earlier in the day. I hope to get out archery hunting in a few weeks, once work slows a bit. my Trail cam is out, and I will check it in a few more days. no big buck pictures, but lots of smaller 4 6 8 pointers. take care and good luck,Jim
Re: Trail CameraI caught this good looking guy checking out his treestands, thinking he's pretty sneaky not leaving any sent on the ground and driving right up to his stands. Then again maybe he's just lazy.

Re: Trail CameraColumbia, Missouri. The Columbia Daily Tribune reports that the study puts the risk of a Missouri driver striking a deer at 1 in 134 in the next 12 months. That means Missouri ranks 16th in the nation. The trick is just hitting the deer in the head and neck with your car. This leaves the rest of the meat in good condition. I have an excuse. CRS.
Re: Trail CameraWell he's not the biggest thing out there but he's about as big as they get in my area.
Seen a few tree rubs and wanted to see what was doing it. Looks like a few came through at one time and checked my camera out... ![]() ![]() ![]() Democracy is two wolves and a lamb voting on what to have for lunch. Liberty is a well-armed lamb contesting the vote. Ben Franklin
Re: Trail CameraI've seen a lot bigger ones shot in my area, but if this guy walks near my stand when I'm in it. I'm shootin an arrow
![]() Edit:: this picture below was taken a few years ago on my nextdoor neighbors property. The creek is the border between my land and his. He has 380 acres of swamp woods that he manages for QDM (quality deer management) This picture was published in some deer magazine is what my neighbor told me. I saw this pic before I bought my land, and it is why I jumped at the chance when my acquaintance offered the 40 acres to me to buy. ![]()
