Is there supposed to be a hole here?

Postby Scrivet » Sun Oct 17, 2010 8:44 pm

Had RJ sitting in the driveway with the left side facing the sun and happened to notice this today.

I thought that was an odd spot for soot so looking up behind the carb I saw this

So I went over to the other cub and looked in the same spot and no hole. So do I plug this one or drill one in the second cub?

some have them, some don't. it allows water to drain out of the manifold if it gets left out in the rain.

If you poke around on the "no hole" manifold you might find it rusted and carboned over.

I don't think the crack is supposed to be there.

I wonder if that is a crack, or a casting mark the camera flash accented with a shadow.

Upon further review the play stands as called. Sorry, no cracks ( :{_}: ), just rust and peeling paint.

Here's what the other cub looked like the other day.

I got to studying the picture and thinking about Denny's comment and found the missing hole.
