Okay, you were expecting a Cub right? Well rest easy Ed, I haven't added another of those...yet.
But we did welcome Dozer to the mix. He is about four years old and looks to be mostly Border Collie. The PO said he thought he was full blood but I have my doubts. He has a bit more weight than a normal Border.
The previous owner stopped by last week and said he had a dog that needed room to run and felt sorry for him because he was cooped up in a small yard with nobody to play with. We plan to take care of that. He is well mannered and so far the girls have somewhat accepted him. I think, given time, he will fit right in with them.
For now we are keeping him in the garage, away from the girls until we know there will be no problems.

There are two ways to get enough Cubs. One is to continue to accumulate more and more. The other is to desire less.

Thanks Grump, I hate to see a good dog headed to the pound but I have about reached my rescue limit. We have a county ordinance that allows you to only have no more than five dogs. That is a good thing since there have been several recent incidents of people being found with underfed animals around here. Two months ago one guy caled the SPCA and turned over 70 dogs to them because he could no longer care for them. They were all well fed and cared for, he just said he couldn't afford to keep them. Nobody had ever reported him because there were never any problems.
Dozer has taken well to the barnyard. We let him run free for a while today. He barks at people near the fence, comes when called, is well mannered and lays around the Cubs. Yep, my kind of dog.

I'd put the dog in the house, and the ugly cuss sitting next to it, in the garage! Ed

Thanks, I had a picture of him looking at the camera but he wasn't smiling.

I think that has crossed Rosie's mind. I'm seldom in the house anyway.

Bill, that is a nice addition to your barnyard. I too have added to my yard. I have a 2 1/2 year old chocotate lab and a few weeks ago we brought home a pup black lab. What was I thinking ? Anyway they are starting to get along .I like to watch them wrestle around and glad to have them.
