cub restoration on holdWell, I've made the decision to hold off on the restoration on my 1955 cub. I am beginning to gather parts to restore the tractor I learned to drive on, my grandfather's 1961 Farmall 560. It needs a lot of work (complete engine rebuild, new T/A and new tires to name a few. This project will take at least 2 years for me to complete. I will try to give updated photos as I progress, but they will be few as I am now just starting to gather parts. Here is what I have to start with.

Re: cub restoration on holdBrian - I spent many hours on a 560 Diesel. I loved looking down that long hood from the operator's seat!

If you can't fix it with a hammer, you've got an electrical problem. My wife says I don't listen to her. - - - - - - - - Or something like that! http://www.cubtug.com
Re: cub restoration on holdBrian, sounds like you have quite a project ahead of you. Good luck and can't wait to see the pictures as you make progress.

Re: cub restoration on holdGood luck Brian. I too, got many hours behind the wheel of a 560. Raking hay, plowing and such.
Re: cub restoration on holdHave fun Brian. Be sure to check the rear axle inner bearing. They were a problem, would go bad and the bull gear would rub a hole in the bottom of the case.

Re: cub restoration on holdBrian, that's a nice looking original set up, of course the memories are priceless. I would like to have just 1 of the tractors back that Grandpa had when I was a kid. I saw a 412 plow like that on an auction last fall. It had that same rear transport wheel. I'd never seen one like that before.

Re: cub restoration on holdWell, here is the first update. These may not be the most important items, but at least it gives me something to look at.
