New owner in Maryland

Postby Bowen » Mon Jan 24, 2011 11:54 pm

Hello, I've got a new toy in the barn. Well, let's get it out in the open right from the git go. According to my wife, SHE has a new toy in the barn. About 10 years ago I got the itch to do some tinkering just for fun (the car or truck breaking down doesn't count) and started fooling with old Gravelys. Simple enough for my basic skills, setting up for a nice learning curve. Ready to graduate, a friend lead me to a Farmall H with the bare engine on a rolling frame, the rest in boxes. That fed my tractor tinkering fever. Seeing how I grew up with red tractors on our farm, it was only natural.
Taking the little lady to Gravely events, tractor shows, pulls and meeting wonderful people, she came to love the tractor culture and decided that if I can have an H and one day a SuperMTA (always dream big) then she wants a Cub, Farmall A, B and C.
The new Cub was her father's whom we lost this past summer so even if she has only one out of her wish list, she sees it as a barn full.

Welcome to the forum. I am sure you you will find this to be one of the friendliest forums on the Internet.
It's great to have one of those family cubs.
Get your wife to sign in also. We have quite a few wives on here with cubs. Oh and we all love pictures.

Be sure to check out the up coming Deep South Cub Fest (DSCF) located in Sneads Florida. Its only 197 miles and I can guarantee you will enjoy it. You don't have to bring a cub. You will find out more information about a cub in one day than you can realize.

Zip Code given is for Elkton - far northeastern corner of MD.

Welcome to the forum. Carm has a CubFest in Freeland, Maryland. Last year it was in June. Keep an eye on the Announcements section for upcoming events.

G'day

First condolences on your loss of your wife's father, always a difficult journey. For her to have been able to acquire her Dad's Cub is pretty special and I imagine this will be her most prized should she actually get the rest of her wish granted.

Do take her to Carm's if you can and of course any of the other CubFests and Gatherings that are listed in the calendar that you may be able to attend. She will enjoy it probably as much as you will.

Much of what you will need can be obtained by reading the text below as well as Bob's post in regards to the links at the head of each forum.

If you click on the Site Rules, Regulations, & Important Information, it will point you to  the Welcome Wagon wherein you will find links to many useful sites and topics. One of which is the Cub Manual Server. Enjoy!.
