Super A Steering

Postby Dale Finch » Tue Mar 01, 2011 9:55 pm

My two '48 SA's have two different tie rods...the traditional style and the newer automotive style. I had decided to use the traditional ones on the reborn SA, Bubba, but I'm not sure they are really usable. I am soliciting opinions.

A welded repair on the first two:

An apparent repair on the ball end:

The automotive version tie rods have also been repaired, so neither is perfect...and I would prefer the old style. Perhaps someone has some better tie rod ends?

Dale - have you tried J.P. Tractor Salvage? They are a site sponsor and carry parts for about all the early Farmalls.
