New acquisition - need advice

Postby Dusty B » Mon Mar 21, 2011 10:37 am

Just acquired a '71 loboy 154, (minus radiator) has been sitting several years. Anticipate possibly using some parts, engine, final drives ?? - has, 59" Woods mower - am I better off to sell it as a unit & buy parts I need to refurbish an F cub, or salvage parts I need and part out the remains?? Don't have many $$$ in it so I'm starting from ground zero as far as I'm concerned. Advice & comments appreciated! Thanks in advance! Dusty B

My experience is that it's cheaper to buy a parts tractor - remove the parts needed - put some of the better parts on shelf - sell the remainder.
I have an excuse. CRS.

It does have several parts I'm definitely not planning on using - fiberglass grill is in decent (reparable)shape, a set of turf tires, the sheet metal, hydraulics - basically any of the parts that aren't interchangeable w/an F Cub or cub low boy. Need to recoup some of my gas money!!! Dusty B
