Fast Hitch Hold Up Part 456849R1Does anyone have the Inside length dimentions of the Fast Hitch Hold up Part # 456849R1
I think I need to make on, or a drawing, Thanks Bruce T.

Re: Fast Hitch Hold Up Part 456849R1Thanks Dave, I saw that at T&M's website, I guess I could figure it out just by measuring my fast hitch to pullbar to see how far they are apart and add a couple of inches for slack to unhook.
Re: Fast Hitch Hold Up Part 456849R1It actually has an exact deminsion between the ends. Not only does it swing up to hook over the top bar but it also swings back and hooks into the latch to keep it locked. They don't show a picture of it on TM's site but trust me
You can guess by the picture that the length is pretty precise for it to securely hook into the latch. Without it able to use as a latch lock, just imagine if you ever made a "Mother-in-Law" seat to plug into the fast hitch and the latch opened. It wouldn't go over too good with the wife Rick When I told my dad I've been misplacing things and doing stupid stuff----His reply---"It only gets better"
Re: Fast Hitch Hold Up Part 456849R1Well I'll be........You learn something new everyday, I didn't know that the hold up was also a locking pin for the fast hitch.
Wow it's amazing what can be found on this website along with the vast knowledge that most of the elders have, Thanks Rick, maybe this would be something for KubKraft in the future, just my thought. Bruce T.
Re: Fast Hitch Hold Up Part 456849R1It's available right now from TM. No waiting. And in the correct size, to boot.

Bruce - same thought here, never knew that it did double duty. Peter
Re: Fast Hitch Hold Up Part 456849R1I actually made several for Ralph a couple/3 years ago. That's how I knew about the double duty. Ralph told me about it. Now that TM sells them, I won't make any more, but I still have the jig. Tom and Lynn's been too good to me. I have enough to keep me busy so if anyone else is making something, I usually back off unless it's something I was making first.

Re: Fast Hitch Hold Up Part 456849R1Bruce, don't forget that once you raise the fast hitch to the up position and hook the hanger you're making, you'll also need to loosen #1 and move it to ballpark #2 in the pic below.click to enlarge the reworked TM pic
If you forget to move the stop nut to #2, there'll be a good chance you'll bend your new hanger and it won't fit the latch anymore Rick When I told my dad I've been misplacing things and doing stupid stuff----His reply---"It only gets better"
Re: Fast Hitch Hold Up Part 456849R1Not that I might sound stupid, but obviously I am when it comes to the purpose of such a device, so here goes...why would someone want to hold the fast hitch up in a locked position? There I said it

Re: Fast Hitch Hold Up Part 456849R1How about if it's really hot out and you want to haul your cooler around on your fast hitch carry- all, plus you want to mow grass at the same time. You can use the hanger to hold up the carry-all and still raise and lower your mowing deck. Otherwise, both items will raise and lower at the same time.
There's also another brkt made that holds up the center item and allows the fast hitch to raise and lower. Rick When I told my dad I've been misplacing things and doing stupid stuff----His reply---"It only gets better"
Re: Fast Hitch Hold Up Part 456849R1I knew there'd be a simple explanation...I don't have a carry-all so my brain was in neutral as to reasons to lock it up.

Re: Fast Hitch Hold Up Part 456849R1
I'm guessing the cooler would be full of bricks to give you rear weight for traction. I don't believe in taking the bull by the horns. I took a goat by the horns once and that was enough excitement for me.

Re: Fast Hitch Hold Up Part 456849R1The rod is 5/8" in diameter. From there it's a simple matter of blowing up the photo until the rod is 5/8" in diameter, or taking measurements and making a few quick calculations.
The hold-up is used when you want to use the lift for front-mounted implements like the sickle mower and front blade.
