Got a project that you are working on that is not a tractor? Maybe a barn to hold your tractors or just fun stuff like woodworking, glass, tools, sheds, gardens, custom implements, etc., this is the place to talk about it.

I picked up an old lathe yesterday which seems to be in good shape! The previous owner said that It was a South Bend.I was just wondering if I posted a picture could someone help identify it? There isn't much for markings on it! I've read where some South Bend lathes had the serial numbers sampled on the bed under the tailstock. There is only the number "1" sampled on the bed.A couple gears are stamped with"Browning". It is belt driven from a counter shaft and a 1 1/2HP 220V electric motor. The plate that has all of the threading information on it is missing. It came with some tooling,faceplate,4 jaw chuck, reversing switch and extra belting.
Any help would be appreciated! Thanks ! Jerry

I don't believe they did. I think Grizzly is a distributor for South Bend products.
I don't believe in taking the bull by the horns. I took a goat by the horns once and that was enough excitement for me. Barnyard Bash CubFest May 31 - June 1, 2013 Click here for info.
