Need help replacing my SA's PTO Bearing

I thought I had posted this, but apparently it disappeared into the netherlands...

I took my SA PTO to Boss's VA Cubfest, and Cecil was able to remove the seal on the PTO, but said I should replace the bearing because of a slight wobble.









I tried a puller behind the gear on the shaft, but when it didn't budge, I felt it was time to call in the experts! Any suggestions for getting that bearing off? Thanks for your input.

Both of the gears are keyed to the shaft. They should come off by driving, pulling or pressing. If the first 2 options won't move it, find somebody with a press. You should not have to remove the straight cut gear. Getting the bevel gear by itself should require the least force, but may require a bearing splitter to get on it.

Once the bevel gear and the bearing are off, the rest hould be pretty straightforward. Be sure to put the bearing holders back the same as they are. Be extra careful to make sure you put all the shims back exactly as they were. Changing ONLY the bearing will not change the gear mesh.

Yeah, it was the bevel gear I tried the puller on, but was afraid I would do some damage when it didn't move. I'll give it another go tomorrow, or take it down the road (along with the final!) to the Case dealership's shop and see what they can do. Unfortunately, they are about 45 min away, but better than breaking something, right? Thanks,
