Farmall F-xx Series Tractors, 1931-1939

Since the spring weather has tried to make an appearance I have been doing some tinkering and spring maintenance. Decided to see if some of the tractors that have been sitting since last October were ready to wake up. I climbed up on the BN and pulled the switch and tapped the starter. It fired off on the first revolution! I moved it out of the way and decided to see if Miss Daisy the '39 F-14 was ready to wake up. Shook hands with her gearshift (she likes that). Set the magneto advance about halfway and put the throttle at about 1/4. Put the crank on and made the first pull. (It always takes one pull to get the gas up to the carb.) I re-set the crank and slowly pulled it over one more crank. She fired right up and settled down into a nice idle. No choke used at all. I let her warm up a bit and decided it was time for a ride. So we took a little tour around the neighborhood. Miss Daisy loved the sunshine and I enjoyed the ride. Spring is good!!!

Nothing compares to a ride on old iron in the warm sunshine! Especially if you're trying to catch one of them Yankee boys down a dirt road.

Hi Bigdog,
Happy to see the the F-14 is doing fine. I love those old engines, they never seem to quit if taken care of. We are going to try to make it to your Cubfest/CubTug.
The Jeep is also going strong.

Glad to see they fired up for you easy enough. Maybe I better go out and start mine. A few of them may be a little tempermental.
I don't believe in taking the bull by the horns. I took a goat by the horns once and that was enough excitement for me. Barnyard Bash CubFest May 31 - June 1, 2013 Click here for info.

Nice! I think its best to give em a ride if you are going to start them. It does show that a machine that is cared for will start and run, they are lucky machines
