CORN IS UP (SILVER QUEEN) UPDATE PIC

Yep went out the back door looked over to the field. Green lines. 98 % came up. Planted last Saturday at noon and 6 days it came up. Side dressed 10-10-10 at planting .
Picked a big mess of spinach yesterday. Beets, kale, Turnips, Watercress,are looking good.Planted cucumbers, squash,green beans,today.
This is a update picture

30 days old 98 % came up, looks like a bumper crop. This corn I have planted in same spot for over 30 years.

Your success makes me envious because I have nothing but water logged fields with nothing in. You must be down on the Neck in sandy soil? Up towards Hagerstown we have had heavy rains every week since the snow melted off. The ground never dried up enough to work. The creek has come out of its banks and over run my fields twice in the last month. This coupled with the cool weather has me very frustrated.

Challenger Sorry to here that. Do you plant silver queen ? I cant get over how fast it came up this year. Your right my fields have loamy soil it drys fast.I set out 57 tomato plants and 30 green pepper today

Too early, here, to plant Silver Queen. I did plant some early corn, last week. No sign of germination, yet. Ed

Everything planted and up except the pumpkins. Broccoli, cabbage, onions, sunflowers, yellow sweet and Silver Queen corn, green beans, okra, tomatoes, peppers, cantalopes, water mellons, and cukes. Broccoli is heading nicely, zucccinni are are about 2" long and marble size tomatoes on the vine.

I got an 83 day bi-color variety this year from SSates called 'Peaches and Cream.' Unfortunately, seeds are still stitting in the sack. You can never go wrong with Silver Queen. Probably, the most popular time tested variety out there. It likely is the one most sold by SS since it was the only variety they had available in bulk.

Challenger, you said the creek flooded your garden area twice this year. You may want to check with your local extension office to see if it is safe to plant root crops there. Nasty little germs may be lurking. Sorta like plowing under fresh manure and planting root crop..Big mistake..I know I lost an entire garden along a creek one year because of flooding. Curious this was even the wildlife would not eat it..Hope I'm wrong..Greg

I planted Peaches and Cream two years ago and it was some of the best corn I have grown yet.

I went out the the field today and dug up one of the sweet corn seeds I planted Saturday and it looks like they are about 2 days from breaking the ground.
