Whats the best way to side dress the corn? Any tips or trick to it? My corn has come up and I've heard about side dressing it but guess I don't know how?

Do you have a sidedresser for your cub? if so run the cultivators through the corn and apply fertilizer as you cultivate. If you do not have a sidedresser, take one hand full of 10-10-10 and put it close to 3 stalks of corn, that should be about the right amount. then cultivate

I believe that 2 lbs of 46-0-0 per 100 feet of row is the correct amount..I took a 1/2 gallon ice cream bucket( eat ice cream first.. lol...) drill 1/2 inch hole or similar in the bottom, fill with fert. and weigh it. I'm thinking it should be about 4 lbs.. start walking dribbling the N in the middle of the row. After a couple test runs you'll have the correct pace down. Won't hurt anything if you are off a bit either. Then work into the soil, just enough to cover it is fine..but it should be covered because other wise it will vaporize into the air and you lost it...Good luck ..Greg

People used to use amonium nitrate, but I don't know if you can buy it anymore because of anti-terrorist rules.

We stopped selling it at the Ag Co-op where I work. We were told that we had to keep it under lock and key and have a guard watching it 24-7. Sooooo we no longer sell it. Crazy world we live in..Greg
