Binder, John Deere

Postby Eugene » Sun Jun 05, 2005 8:42 pm

Filling up with gas and a guy pulling a gooseneck trailer drives in. He has a JD binder, IH hammer mill and 2 JD rims on the trailer. The binder was rusty but complete. The guy said that he had been looking for a complete binder for years. The guy said that he was not going to restore the binder, only put linseed oil on the wood. The guy picked the binder up near Belle, Missouri and was returning to Texas.

Seeing the binder brought back a lot of memories. Last time the family thrashed oats, use the binder and thrashing machine, was about 1953.

Never saw a binder actually in use, but hope to someday.

John,

I pulled the IH binder a lot of miles with the !$#%^& John Deere GP. If it weren't for the tractor it would have been a good job. I can't find the words to describe how much I hated that tractor!

I think I get the message about the GP, those are about the same words most people use when referring to me.
