Re: 54 Ford NAAGot it to fire last weekend. Has not been run in about 8 years. Motor was not stuck.
Loader was removed. Clutch was stuck, but that has now been taken care of without having to split. Drove it 3.5 miles last night. The oil pressure is excellent, and no smoke. Charges good as well. WIll be a fun project indeed!! Thank-you Craig, and thanks to Mike as well for the help on this!!
Re: 54 Ford NAAI don't normally come to this forum, so I missed this post until now. Having been there when we loaded that beastie on the trailer up north, I can tell you how much of a beast it is! I have seen your pics as you have gone on along on your project, and rest assured that this tractor is in GOOD HANDS with you!!
I can't wait to see it when it is done. Maybe you'll let me take it down the road in high gear, too?? Maybe?? Mike in La Crosse, WI Mike in Gibsonia, PA
Re: 54 Ford NAAOh yes you will! Been busy redoing the whole front end, to stabilize the steering.
Over 10mph it wobbles to much! With the Sherman hi/lo transmission, top gear should be real fun on the road!!
Re: 54 Ford NAA![]() removed the bolster and front axel last night. Now to redo the wallowed out holes in the bolster from the worn kingpin, and start replacing draglinks and bushings on the put-together
Re: 54 Ford NAAYou don't mess around, my friend! Nice tear down.... I'll bet it looks like your Loboy before long at this rate!!

Re: 54 Ford NAAI was sorta looking for exactly that tractor. I like a red belly Ford and they are ideal with a loader (beefy front end) and have a 3 point hitch. Handsome tractor too.
But I found a sweet deal on Cub with a loader and fast hitch. So no Ford in my future. Enjoy it! 1971 Cub (Rufus) 1950 Cub (Cathy) 1965 Lo Boy Fast Hitch (Nameless III) 1970 Cub 1000 Loader & Fast Hitch (Lee)
Re: 54 Ford NAANice look NAA! I love '
em too. glad we still have my Poppys '56. I agree, they are a "handsome" tractor. ![]() Member IHCC Chapter 37 Eastern North Carolina 1951 Farmall "M" - Restored 1949 Farmall Cub - Original "Blue Ribbon Reconditioned" 1929 Farmall Regular
