When did you replace them? Is there a chance there is a problem with the seals themselves?

It has been several years ago, probably '03 or so. The leak started much like yours--right after I put it all back together. IIRC the seals were from caseIH. Maybe it was a seal problem, maybe not. In a steering gear where there's just not much going on, unlike a final drive or a transmission, I felt like the gun grease was a viable solution. Like I said most frown up it but it has worked for me and that is probably what I will do when I overhaul the Super A-1 and the white Super A. If you worry about the grease going "bad" just pull the drain plug from time to time and pump some more in--forcing the old grease out.

IH's are RED. Just say NO to yellow and white!

Let us pray for farmers and all who prepare the soil for planting, that the seeds they sow may lead to a bountiful harvest.
