Does anyone have a photo of the rear light bracket? I was given one by a friend to replace the broken one that was on my '48 SA (no light, just the broken bracket!) However, the freebie has a wierd bend to it, which I do not think is correct: Held in its approximate mounted position: But before I go straightening it, I figured I had better check. It looks like it is made from a pipe/tubing that was flattened on both ends. Thanks for your help. Dale F PS I know I have posted a lot, sorry...but that is what happens when you go from 1 to 5 tractors over one year's time!!! Now I know why folks own so many...when one breaks, they just go get another, and when that breaks....... !!!

Thanks! I didn't want to start bending until I confirmed it, but it just didn't make sense to be bent! The trouble with the parts book illustration is that it makes the "bar" look like flat stock rather than the "pipe" that mine has. Again, thanks and Mr E, if you can supply a photo that would be great.

Thank you ALL! I was studying it today, and decided to save the challenge for the first of next week...something "fun" to look forward to!!! I decided to consult William, the owner of the shop, on Monday, but my thinking is to use the press while heating the pipe...little "presses" at a time starting at one end and working toward the other, blocking it at various points along the way. If I just push down on the middle it will probably bend in half, or break the tab-like attach ends. Will let you know how successful I am. Dale F PS If you don't hear anything at all, you will know I probably screwed it up royally!!!!!

You have a good point, Jim. Do you recommend heating or doing it without heat?

OK, I'll have a go at it next week and let you know how it goes. Meanwhile, I am waiting for a new radiator for the '52 Cub so will work on getting the '55 Cub running. So much fun to be had!!
