Rear PTO question??

Will the complete rear pto kit from a farmall cub fit a cub cadet tranny???

I realize i need to cut out the upper frame for the engagement lever if it fits.
I'm technically misunderstood at times i guess its been this way my whole life so why should it change now.

Bill,
I believe that it will fit. Depending on the model, there were a few different linkage setups for engaging the PTO. If you have an owner's manual for the particular model you are working on, it will have a picture of the engaging lever.

NO. The complete kit from a Farmall Cub won't have the different main shaft#31 & #32) for the Cub Cadet transmission also the

This is the kit from an "Original" Cub Cadet which is the same as the Farmall Cub Cadet kit

I'd like to put a hydarulic pump on a cadet using the rear tranny PTO (secret project planned) with just a coupling setup with no belts/pullies driving the pump. I don't want to remove the front engine PTO i may need that to drive something else.

The Cadet's rear PTO would power a hydraulic pump. Log splitter or something.

Once owned a Johnson loader mounted on a narrow framed Cadet. The hydraulic pump was mounted on the front casting near where the voltage regulator mounts. The belt driving the pto pump was powered by the Cadet's front pto.

The danco loader is powered on the flywheel side of the engine where the little vee pulley is. I'd rather put the hydraulic pump in the rear.

Keep in mind that the rear mechanical PTO on a Cub Cadet will only turn 514 RPM at 3600 RPM engine speed, and turns backwards just like a Cub. The basic Cub rear PTO will fit the Cub Cadet, but you have to have the correct transmission top shaft, (there is one for an Original and one for all the other IH Built grear drives) and you will need the correct PTO shift linkage for the model Cub Cadet you are putting it on. An Original is the only model the Cub linkage will fit without any mods.

Paul B; Cadet Brother you always seem to burst my bubble(kidding i oover looked that), thanks for the info i didn't think about the gear reduction in the tranny. I may have to remove the engine PTO and put a direct coupling on that eliminating the vee belt. I'm just tired of using the vee belts.

I saw an original at a show once with a cub belt pulley on it running a corn sheller it looked prett cool. T.J.
52 Cub with fast hitch, 64 Cub Lo-Boy, 66 Cub Cadet 125, various fh attachments, pto sprayer, snow-dozer blade and Wagner loader
