I'm confused. The owner's manual shows a .014 valve clearence for all valves - both intake and exhaust. Another manual I have shows that after serial number 100501 the clearence changes on the exhaust valves to .020. I assume this is the engine serial number and not the tractor serial number as the manual is engine related and not tractor specific. I have looked all over and can't find anything that looks like an engine serial number. Do I just go with the .014?

Thanks Jim. I was looking at page 1-18 of the Engine & Fuel System C-123, C-135, c-146 & C-153 Engines GSS-1295-J W/revision 2 March, 1977 Jim, I think I know What I was doing wrong. I am embarrassed to say I was looking at the column for the C-135 engine and not the C-123 engine. Tomorrow I will set all the valves for .014 and see what happens.
