Cub paint colors
I need to know where to look on-line for the paint color/code for my "new" 1965 International Cub. I plan to pressure wash it soon and need to know who might carry the International White (for the hood) and the International Yellow. Is the yellow the same as the Cub Cadet? My source for the spray paint for my 1952 has been Tractor Supply which carries the International Red. Has anyone tried having the hood(s) power coated? Thought that would look really good if I (they) could match the original colors. Some sites refer to different paint manufacturers codes for the International Red but can't seem to find any refence to the Cub Yellow or the White for that matter. Have I not searched enough?

The yellow you need is called federal yellow, I just painted the same tractor, you can buy it from the IH dealer if you like

Re: Cub paint colors
The correct white is the challenge. Looks like you need #901 for a 1965 and yes the Cub Cadet whites are the same. What you would get now from IH is 935 white which is more of a cream color that fades to a chalky white eventually.

Re: Cub paint colors
Thanks guys...just what I needed. Now who has a picture of a properly painted 1965 Cub? ... so I'll know wheel colors, I don't trust what's on the tracor. Oh, and the 42" Woods mower colors too.

Re: Cub paint colors
Moon doggie,
My local NAPA had paint codes for 901, 902, and the 935 although you can still get it an an CaseIH dealer.
If you would like the 901 formula, contact me. I have painted 2 Cub Cadets with it and 1 with the 902. There is a definate difference.

Re: Cub paint colors
White hood, wheel centers, front wheels, breather cap, gas tank cover headlights, and rear light. The hood supports and grill surround are yellow. Grill itself I think is silver- hard to tell on mine. Edit: I had a good look with the flashlight and it is white on the grill. The late ones (75-79) are black. The assembled tractor without the hood was painted yellow in one shot so the starter, wiring, belts all got their share. Wheel weights would be yellow if you have them. There are some nice yellow and white tractors on the home page. Just refresh the page and the photo will change and one will come up. Rims. The rear rims were sort of galvanized. I powder coated mine mirror silver.

Re: Cub paint colors
I agree with Bob's description except I think the grille screen was white also.

Wheel weights should be the same color as the part they are bolted to.

I seem to remember that but I "never" saw any white wheel weights until I went back and checked Don's tractor.
FYI, the long stripe Cubs are different. Note the doglegs and grill surround are white, not yellow.

Re: Cub paint colors
Looking for my old 1952 Cub Shop Manual I found among my documents a dealer folder (8 pages) in pristine condition for an International Cub Tractor. It is not dated. I think it may be from the late 1960's because I also have 3 local dealer catalogs dated 1961 thru 63 but in faded condition. But it is the yellow and white tractor. It has really good pictures of the tractor colors so now I can see just which items are painted which colors. I scanned it into my computer and used Adobe Acrobat 6 to convert the 8 pages into a pdf document. I am going to try and add the front page here but If anyone wants a complete copy of the pdf just let me know and I will try to email it to you.

Re: Cub paint colors
That brochure was for the "long stripe" Cubs from late '75 to '79. I know of 2 variations of that brochure, there may be more. Each brochure has an id at the lower left of the back page. The two I know are AD-32511-F and AD-32511-G2, which are from 1977 and 1978. What is yours?

Re: Cub paint colors
Below is a correctly painted 65 Cub, except that I painted the gas cap and air intake cap yellow. That was just my own twist. Originally, the cap would have been galvanized silver, and the breather cap would have been white like the hood. I used IH Federal Yellow and 935 White, because I had them here. I actually had some of the yellow paint from Tractor Supply, that I thought would match, but it is a shade lighter than the IH paint.
