I am looking at purchasing a 1961 B-275. I know nothing about this model. Are they good tractors? Is there something I should be looking for? Would one handle a 6 foot rotary mower okay?
Any comments would be appreciated.

Re: B-275The complete set of manuals for the B-275 are on the server.

Re: B-275The reason the manuals are on the server is cause a friend of mine who owns a campground has one and does his own maintenance on his. Handles a mower very well, handles his loader nicely and he uses it for work around the campground as well as for snow. It seems to be a pretty good tractor. Hal has had it about 7 years now and he isn't getting rid of it any time in the foreseeable future.. he is as addicted to that 275 as many of us are to our Cubs. If one asked Hal if he thought it was a good tractor one would get a resounding yes.

Re: B-275If it is anything like a 424 (and from the bellhousing back, it is) it is just about indestructable.

Re: B-275i have a B414 gas. essentially the same tractor but with hi-lo range. great unit. the 275's are mostly diesel, BD154 engine i believe. its a 5 main bearing engine like the 414. you cant go wrong unless its been abused.
