John Puckett - surgery

Postby Eugene » Mon Oct 10, 2011 6:53 pm

Phone call from John, 6:30 PM, 10 Oct 2011. Letting everyone know his hip surgery went well. Should be out of the hospital 3 days. Raspy voice from tube stuck down throat.

What does John want to talk about? Cubs. Not the food, cable channels, or the nurses. Cubs. What a guy!
I have an excuse. CRS.

Thanks for the update Eugene. Once the meds were off he will realize the nurses are around and will change his thinking from Cubs.
There are two ways to get enough Cubs. One is to continue to accumulate more and more. The other is to desire less.

Good to hear...I'll give him a couple of days to recover from surgery and give him a call.

9PM and he's still talking Cubs! I got a call as well. Among other things I was telling him a lesson I learned about driving my "new" Lo-Boy across a ditch the other day. I cross this ditch with my other Cubs all the time but this was the first (and last) time with the Lo-Boy; as I eased into the ditch all forward progress stopped rather abruptly but the wheels keep moving. I look back and down and realized the Cub is hanging from the drawbar. This is where John really started laughing at me. I guess that mental picture was better than the pain medicine. Luckily I was able to work the brakes and get enough traction to work my way out without resorting to going and getting another tractor.
