Tru Power tire prices???? wow the increase.....

Postby BigBill » Mon Oct 24, 2011 1:23 pm

I was just looking at the tru power tire prices and wow the increase with them lately. I'll have to look at ebay for a deal on them. I have two brand new 23''-850-12's for my cc104 and i want to dual them up. I already have the 16''-650-8 3 rib tires for the front. Bill

I just put new tires on my truck about a month ago. They were a good $200 higher for the set of four than they were the last time. :(

That sounds about right, that fits right in the the 3.5% cost of living index that the government has recently calculated on Social Security.

I just purchased 4 30''-950-15 tires for my 99 wrangler jeep on ebay for $400 for all four tires plus $135 for shipping. These tires run around $200 locally. My tire guy charged me $80 to mount them.So for $615 total i'm golden. Otherwise it would of cost up towrads $900 by the time there bought and mounted here. I also just purchased 2 11.2x24 ag tires for my tractor on ebay for $400 shipped too. but the 26''-1200-12 tru power tires are $175 whats wrong with this picture these little ag tires are worth as much as my big ag tires and there about 1/3 the rubber smaller?
I have to save were i can now. I saved better than with Geico just kidding but its true.

Discussed the increase in tire prices this morning with local tire shop owner.

Owner said that the price has increased steadily in the past two years. Every month or so the price went up 5%.

And to make everyone's day. Owner said he recently receive notice from one of his suppliers that another increase was going into effect 1 December 2011.

Causes of the price increases. Shortage of raw materials from Indonesia, rubber. Federal government imposed a 35% tariff on imported tires (Sept 2009). Petroleum based products and particularly transportation costs have risen.
I have an excuse. CRS.

I believe that was just Chinese car and truck tires due to their unfair trade practices. But if the low price source goes up, everyone else follows.

I reported the information as the owner stated. I looked up the 35% tariff and it was on Chinese tires. I didn't find that the tariff applied to tires from other countries.

Owner also said that the increased price on overseas produced tires (China in this instance) caused a sudden increase in the demand for US made tires. US suppliers couldn't keep up with the demand causing a shortage.

In any event, there are a lot of issues involved in the tire price increase.
I have an excuse. CRS.

That or the increase in price in the Chinese tires gave domestic suppliers a reason to increase their prices too.
Freedom is for those that claim it.

Higher tariff's? There killing us the consumer.

Just as the price increases started i grabbed 4 of the 26''- 1200-12 JD turf tires for a little over $100 pr. Now i just need the 12''wide x 12'' dia. 5 lug rims i may go with the polished alumimum on my mower.
