Cockshutt Trip Plow ID

Postby Ida Red » Thu Jul 28, 2011 6:08 am

Have a real nice 2 furrow field plow that is in good original conditon. There is a hand done stencil on the beam reading Cockshutt.
Where do you look for numbers to pin down the model number?

Just went through this with two John Deere trailer type plows. Finally managed to identify model numbers by the numbers (part numbers) stamped or cast into the main beams and other structural pieces.

With the part numbers in hand, did a web search and down loaded JD parts lists from their archives for positive identification.
I have an excuse. CRS.

Red - if you can post a picture of it I know someone who may be able to identify it.

Oh boy!!! :) :) I have to learn it all over each time I do it. The good news is that it takes less time to learn each time I post a pic. However, I'm certainly not the one to tell you how to do it.
