Needed help with my Hydraulics.....Update

Today I wanted to disc my garden, I put the disc harrow (fast hitch) on, lifted the disc, and started to disc the garden, well it was not digging deep enough for me or so I thought, I went and mounted 2 rear wheel weights on the disc, good to go I thought, disc was digging deep really looked good until I tried to lift the disc. Didn’t seem to lift, took one of the discs off, tried again, and still would not lift.
Back to the shed, checked the hydraulic fluid, added about a pint, worked the control to bleed the air, touch control was rebuilt last year at Cecil’s cub fest, been working great until today, no leaks and not leaking into the motor.
The next thing I did was get out my hydraulic pressure gauge and inserted it into the high pressure side of the block at the touch control hydraulic lines, no pressure at idle, would not lift, about half to ¾ throttle only had about 500 psi. At idle zero psi.
I was reading in the service manual that it states the pump is not rebuildable, only serviceable parts are the oring and gasket. Been looking at old posts and found that they have been rebuilt using a kit from T&M with gaskets and orings. Should I attempt a rebuild or should I look for a good used pump.

More than likely a bad bypass valve in the touch control system itself, but I also suggest you check pressure again, and also trying to go down with no load. Also, recheck fluid level, if it is low, you may be losing fluid past pump shaft seal fat enough to prevent pressure build up. Might try borrowing a pump before you start tearing stuff down to verify where the problem is.

Could the bypass valve fail in a year?
I did try without a load and that was the reading I got 0 psi at idle and less than 500psi at half to 3/4 throttle.
If I were loosing oil past the pump shaft wouldn't it show up on the dipstick?
I guess I have to find me a pump somewhere to try or buy.

If you're not gaining oil in the engine crank case, I don't think your problem is the pump. I think it is in the T/C unit. Unless, of course, the nut and gear have come off the pump shaft. But, that's pretty unlikely.

I agree with Boss, but my nut and washer came off many years ago.

First thing I would do is clean the pressure regulator orifice and screen, probably some trash got in it.

As soon a I get the time, I plan on checking out the T/C I had put a new screen in last year,but will check that also.

I'm refering to the small screen at the orifice, not the big one in the sump (although the big one may eventually prove to need checking). The parts I suggest checking can be accessed through the pipe plug in the Touch-Control head without disassembling the unit.

Will do that first, that should be easy to get to, just remove the dash, and the hood.

Today I attempted to fix my Hydraulics, after trying the fix that Jim Becker told me to do,

First thing I would do is clean the pressure regulator orifice and screen, probably some trash got in it.

I tried that, to no avail. Next I was going to try another Touch Control, I replaced the head gasket and wanted to switch the rockshaft, I couldn't get the arm to move to take out the pin/bolt that moves the rockshaft, so I thought to take off the head of the touch control and tap the piston forward, thats when I found the gasket had a blow-out, monday when I can get another gasket I will put it back together.
Thanks to all that helped me get this corrected. At first I thout it was the pump, but the experts send me down the right path.
