I got tired of lugging my wire welder and all its accessories and tools whenever I needed it.
It always took multiple trips to get everything to where I wanted to weld.
Now, the stick welder is somewhat fixed - being 220 volt - so all the work for it comes to its location.
But the wire welder at 110 volts goes anywhere there is an outlet.
So, I started thinking about some kind of cart....searched the forum, photohost and google for ideas.
Was not looking forward to building one from scratch = wheels, axles, wheel framework, shelves, etc., etc.
Then I saw a photo where someone used an old lawnmower as a starting point....Hmmmm, several mowers laying around the house.
Here is what I began with:
and here is the final product:
The top is an old bread tray...It lifts right out if the tools need to go somewhere solo.

Great idea Dave.
No self-respecting Cub owner would use that color.

That's a very cool idea!! Defiantly "thinking outside the box" I would have never looked at my old mower that way...

Nobody ever claimed him to be self respecting.

But it is a great idea! Good job Dave!
It is common sense to take a method and try it. If it fails, admit it frankly and try another. But above all, try something.

Dave:
Well done
I like the idea a lot. As was mentioned, thinking "outside the box" can be very creative and kinda satisfying. Reduce, Reuse and Recycle is one of my favourite mantras ... and Forest Green is ok ... that is the colour of my furnace bases. My father-in-law's favourite colour was TremClad Fire Red -- all his projects were Fire Red
I kinda wish I had kept the old mower I had ... only thing to add to that would be something to hold to CO2/Argon bottle
