Time zone

Postby Rick Prentice » Wed Nov 30, 2011 2:48 am

Just wondering if anyone else has a wrong time showing for the "current time" . I have things set for the current time in my area and it shows a time about 5 hours earlier. Yes, I have my board set for -5 hours which is where Ohio is supposed to be, I think. Thanks
Rick

If I change my board to western european time (0), things show the correct time for Ohio.

Rick:

Sometimes I have to change from Zulu-4 (AST) to a different time zone, save it and then go back in and redo to Zulu-4 to get the time to reflect properly. Seems it is just a gremlin - can't seem to figure out what causes the problem. And it isn't solely related to DST changes either. So far the last month the proper time is being reflected.

Things are closer now, but still an hour fast. I'm pretty sure Ohio is in EST and if I set my board for CST it reads correct. I sure hope I'm not figuring wrong. I hate it when I make a fool out of myself

Interesting. If I turn off my galaxy tablet and then restart it, soon as I go to the cub forum it reads the correct time. As soon as I sign in it switches to an hour fast.

I am in central time zone which should be -6, but whne daylight saving time ends I have to switch to -7 to get the right time on the forum, but I usually do not bother and just leave it as is.

Yep John, I can do that too. My only reason for posting was to let Dennis know of the possible quirk. He seems to have the ability to fix a multitude of issues if he's aware of them. Thanks

Rick, I currently have mine set for Eastern Standard Time, and in the next line a "No" for DST.

The key is to set the time zone for the area you live in and then you have to manually click the box for daylight saving time when applicable. The board will not automatically adjust when daylight saving kicks in.
