G'day to you and congrats :applause: on the new to you 140. :D

There is a lot of information available to our members although not a lot on the Numbered Series tractors. However, many of our members do have em ... so there is a substantial knowledge base available to you.

Although the Welcome Wagon etc., is primarily orientated towards Cubs there is still a wide array of information that is applicable to other sides of the community.

If you click on the Site Rules, Regulations, & Important Information, it will point you to  the Welcome Wagon wherein you will find links to many useful sites and topics. One of which is the Cub Manual Server. Enjoy!.

Here is a picture of a Cub from TM Tractor Parts. Note the assembly that runs diagonally from one side to the other. Your 140 should have similar parts.

The L-shaped handle in the middle of that brace is used to lock the sway down. With it tight, side sway is minimal, no more than a 3-point with the sway bars in place. With the l-shaped handle loosened, it is free to sway within the limits of the roll pin and slots to the left of the handle.
