International 274

Postby Wood » Thu Feb 23, 2012 8:44 am

Hi. Last year the air filter for the 274 was 150.00. Have any one on this forum found a cross over number yet for a cheaper filter?
Thanks Wood.

If you have the original part number, check with NAPA or Carquest.
If you are not part of the solution,
you are part of the problem!!!

It looks like no luck except for the dealer.

That's about all I found anywhere. A check of the major manufactures all showed no air filter available.

Yes I can get it from the dealer, but there is something out there that use that same filter for less money.

Wood, no offense meant but how can you be sure of that?

If you are sure, then surely you must know what that thing is, and therefore have a way to cross-reference the air filter.

Unless you're running your tractor a LOT in some pretty nasty conditions, you're wasting your time and money replacing the air filter every year.

Heck, I grew up on a farm and we NEVER replaced a single air filter in 30-odd years. Dad pulls them out and blows them clean with the air hose occasionally, but I can't say as I've ever seen him spend money on a replacement filter. These are tractors that got run 200-300 hours every year in dusty conditions... Not so much now since he's downsized the operation and upsized the fleet with a bunch of old Farmalls, but still...

Auto Parts store said that to bring him the filter, and he will have to check the size with all that look like it. There is no crossing of numbers. We tried that in 08. My international dealer told me there is no cross.I am the only one in my neck of the woods that he order this filter for. Thanks for your comments . I can buy the filters.
