I'm a proud Papa to a 185 and I'm looking forward to piece-by-piece restoration and mods. My 'Baby' is in good running order and she's got my palms sweating whenever I see Attachment auctions, but (so far) I'm holding off. I have Plow, Disc, Harrow, Cultivators, and several other 3-pt toys I'm prepping for Spring planting chores and her Woods is getting cleaned, blasted & painted (nice new blades) before the long hat summer's cutting chores (and, after reading, I realize that her Creeper is going to be a real plus).
I'm doing research on a Loader for her and (from what I'm reading) getting enough spin-up on the Pump is an issue. I intend to do some engine mods to boost her output (I'm not a purist when it comes to restoration) and see that the Tranny may be a weak link in the powertrain. I'm already thinking about a little gimmick my Dad did with his A to boost pump speeds (used a beefier pump on a slider mount with a pyramid of pullies on the front to vary speeds up & down).
Dad used an IH 2000 or 2001 Loader on his A; is this realistic on a 185 (or am I trying to put too serious a loader on a Lawn mower)? I've seen the 1000 (not impressed) and the ole Side-arm (doubly underwhelmed). If the 2000 - 2001's not viable I will probably buy and mod something between them and a 1000. I don't plan to move a mountain or dig the Grand, just build or level a lump here & there and lift heavy 'stuff' (maybe dig a Pool). I'd be happy with the front blade but would rather have it on the 3-pt. So, for the front the Wife wants a Loader (I almost fell of my chair when SHE suggested I buy one)!

G'day and congrats on your new to you 184. Don't have a ton of stuff on the Numbered Series Cubs, but I do have some .. check out the links below There is a parts catalog for the 154 and I think a lot of those implements/accessories might fit the 184. The other guys will know for sure. Enjoy you new Cub
