I received E-mails from someone who stated that they represented PayPal before I had completed setting up my account.
I called Pay Pal and they indicated that they had not contacted me for information. This scam has been ongoing for several years. Sad to see they have still not caught the hacker(s) and apparently still have a security issue.

I'm not sure it's a Paypal problem. I believe those emails are just sent out on mass to addresses without knowing if the person even has an account. My wife and I receive those from credit card companies that we don't even have cards from.

It is known as Phishing and PayPal is the classic scam along with the bank scams. PayPal operates a rather aggressive anit-phishing program. PayPal asks that any member who receives such emails forward them to spoof@paypal.com. I forward them regularly. There seems to be a cycle to them ... highs and low activity periods. Either way.. do forward them on to PayPal so they can deal with it. They really take this seriously. In my 11 years on

Rudi...I did contact PayPal via email, asking them where I should forward the email to...Have not received a reply yet...

In addition, PayPal frequently states that they do not put a link in their emails, if you want to check your account you should go to t the sight direct, not via an email link.

Check out every monthly statement on your credit cards for wrong charges being applied to you. I catch them everytime it happens. As long as they can't touch my tractors i'm ok.
I'm technically misunderstood at times i guess its been this way my whole life so why should it change now.
