Emily is a Winner!

Postby Peter Person » Tue Mar 27, 2012 9:45 pm

What father doesn't brag about their children?

Emily has been taking art lessons for the last year and has really become very good (if I don't mind saying so myself!)

At the beginning of the year she entered a national competition for homeschooled students. Several weeks ago she was notified that her pencil drawing was 1 of 14 finalists for her age group (she is 15). There were three groups with a total of 520 entries.
Today we received an email that she was awarded 1st prize in her age group. :applause: Needless to say Donna and I are tremendously proud of her.

Here is her entry;

Thanks for letting me brag.

I offer my congratulations to the talented young lady. Very well done!
There are two ways to get enough Cubs. One is to continue to accumulate more and more. The other is to desire less.

Peter:

She is a very talented young lady and both you and Donna have lots to be proud of. As a parent of two very talented artists I can say that Emily has a bright future ahead of her in the art community. Look at them eyes ... :!: amazing :D that much life and expression in a pencil drawing is simply outstanding :{_}:

We always knew Emily was a winner. Hope this doesn't interfere with her seatcover business. Good going, Emily.

I saw that drawing and another that Emily had done at Cecil's mini-fest and her talent is obviously first rate and surely deserved first place!

Congratulations to her and the proud parents!
