I know nothing about onions, and have questions. Last spring I bought about 2 doz onion sets from Rural king and put them in a couple of places near the house. Our weather last year was near drought and they barely made it out of the ground, then basically dried up so I gave up on them. This spring they have revived, and have great looking tops. (no bulb to speak of yet) Our soil is grey clay and pretty solid when the rain subsides. Do you think these will be fit to eat, or am I wasting my time?
Thanks,
Red onions?

Re: Red onions?
The onions will be ok but may take a while to firm up before growing much. Vern

Thanks, guys! I'll just loosen the dirt up around them and let them go to it...
