Cultivating with a one point fast hitch?

Postby Super A » Fri Apr 20, 2012 10:34 pm

I am slowly getting my new fast hitch mounted on Old Ugly. This will be the first time I have been around a one point fast hitch.

My question is, how do you cultivate tall crops with it? As I understand it, you can disconnect the front bar that goes between the bull gear housings (that the "drawbar" of the fast hitch, the part you "click" into attaches to) from the front rockshaft and pin it up under the floorboard. But what about the rear of the fast hitch, where the implement clicks in? Always assumed it was easy to remove this part but I don't see a way. How do you cultivate without destroying the crop? THere are zillions of Super A-140's with fast hitches around here so I know it can be done but I can't figure out how!

if your doing tall crops like corn you will have to take it all off with just the rock shaft arm on set up like the super A that's about the only way i see doing it. or hook the front of the hitch to the floor board if you have that little bracket and just drive really slow and i mean REALLY SLOW!!!!!! heres a video of a 130 plowing tobacco go a lot slower that he is
