Farmall Super A parts

Postby RELAX » Sun May 06, 2012 2:25 pm

Where do most of you guys purchase parts for your farmall tractors?

I use my local guy and I think he is ripping me pretty good, especially when he trys to charge me $25.00 for a washer.

Lots of places for Cub stuff. I still can't find a good SA connection except CJPenny who did me right on a plow.

What kinds of parts are you talking about? Most of my stuff comes from my IH dealer and local autoparts stores. For example, basic engine/tuneup parts I get from my local Carquest. Filters and more specialized stuff I get from my local IH dealer. Used goodies I usually get from JP Tractor Salvage, and members on this forum. Some stuff I get from Steiner, Ken Updike at Carter & Gruenewald, etc.

If you don't have a local IH dealer, or the one you have close by won't spend much time on parts for old stuff, I would definately give Ken a call.

I was talking more about attachments. Rarely seen, very expensive.

Like Al said, if you are looking for used parts contact Jamie at JP Tractor Salvage, new parts call Ken atCarter & Grunewald or check with our members by posting a want in the Wanted Other.

For Implements and other attachments/accessories same thing applies .. JP Tractor Salvage or Wanted Other. One other place that can be useful for implements and parts - but you have to be patient and pay close attention to who the sellers are etc., is :eBay: and keep in mind your local craigslist and pennysavers etc. .

Attachments for the most part are fairly easy to find here, since Super A's/100's/130's and 140's were so popular.

Thanks guys,

I was talking mostly about new replacement parts like seals, bearings, clutch parts, etc.

Like I said in my first post my local dealer (not an IH dealer) tried to charge me $25.00 for a washer for the pto pully. Granted the parts are becoming more scarce but I think that was a little too much.

I will check out Carter & Gruenwald fore sure!

Parts have gone up a lot in the last couple of years. C&G are great to deal with. This is probably the busiest time of year for a dealership.

Be glad you don't have a JD, too many specialized and hard to find parts on those things.

I don't know what washer you are talking about, but some of those "washers" are special spacers that were made just for that one application, and the dealer has to charge according to what they cost him, and if you wanted it in a hurry he may also have to pay extra shipping and handling.
If you are not part of the solution,
you are part of the problem!!!

If dealing with C and G, use the phone. Their website is impossible to navigate! Ed
