Big Hex Nuts on Super A Touch Control Arms?

Postby Super A » Wed May 09, 2012 4:14 pm

What size wrench do you need to remove the big hex nuts that hold the rockshaft arms on the Super A (and others) Touch Control? Biggest wrench I have is 1 5/16" and it is too small.....

thanks,
Al

JIM!!! You are SO mean!

Al, you might as well buy a set of LARGE combination wrenches...I have used mine ALL the time! I also have a VERY LARGE adjustable "Crescent" wrench, a set of LARGE sockets, as well as a LARGE pipe wrench. I can't remember where I got all of them...some from Agri-Supply. Of course, (being a GIRL) I always had available my 3' pipe for added leverage!

Thanks Dale and Boss for info I can use....

I keep adding big wrenches to my toolbox. I got this nice Craftsman set for Christmas, starts at 15/16 IIRC and goes to 1 5/16. I have always wanted a nice 3/4" drive socket set but I'm too cheap to take the plunge. Will check Sears this weekend. (I'm partial to Crapsman even though I know I'm mainly buying a brand!

Or a tape measure!
I don't believe in taking the bull by the horns. I took a goat by the horns once and that was enough excitement for me.

Sorry. I didn't think I needed to add more detail. Maybe this will help.

Thanks twotone. I appreciate the willingness to help!

Dale S---if I get chance to work on it before the weekend, I will talk to one of my buddies and borrow one of his--he routinely hauls more tools around in his farm truck than the Snap-On truck has!
