Do any of you own a flare box wagon? Have you ever rebuilt it or made one? A friend wants to make a small one for the farm and 4th of July parades to pull behind his Cub. If you would like to show yours off, then please by all means, post a pic here and tell me what you like about it (or not), or what you would do differently. I am also interested in the model numbers and sizes that they came in. Tell me what you know.
Thanks.

Found this nice one by sgtbull but still need others

If you want to start with a 4-wheel wagon gear and not build all that yourself, the one from Northern Tool isn't a bad piece of equipment.

I got one of these recently. Found that I had to do some rework before I was happy with it. It was made in Canada but the Canadians must have learned a few fabrication techniques from the Chinese. I have been thinking about writing up the modifications it needed for the projects forum, but who knows when I'll get to it.

There is not one answer. Depends on what you have on hand and what you want to accomplish. If I were going to haul people during a parade, I would build the wagon/trailer specifically for that purpose. Passagner safety and liability - first thought. Farm trailer, if the trailer breaks down, I'm inconvienced. Nobody is going to sue me because someone got hurt or any other any reason.

For general farm use the barge/straight sides are probably more useful.

2 wheeled trailers, I usually start out with an old trailer purchased at auction for a few dollars or an old large/heavy boat trailer. Then change/convert the trailer to it's ultimate use.

I am currently working on a 2 wheeled farm trailer. Replacing the rotted out bed with 2 bys since we use this trailer to haul rocks and general farm work. Adding removable compartments to keep from spilling/tipping over, water, gas, oil containers. Rebuilding the passanger seat.
I have an excuse. CRS.
